Locs: The Exhibition Opening Night Gala

Friday 4 October, 5-8pm

Launch of a mixed media art exhibition exploring the personal history of locs.  Local poets share their works in honour of Black History Month.  Curator and Forest Gate based artist, Sylvestia Shillingford interviewed, photographed and filmed over 20 men and women to chronicle their personal history with locs. Rarely spoken about, or understood, the history of natural hair and locs is explored in this exhibition to celebrate Black History Month.
